The role
Small nonprofits, one to three years old, no staff, founder working a second job to keep the lights on, need someone to run their operations. Filing deadlines, state registrations, the website, and the weekly rhythm of keeping an organization alive.
None of them can afford a full-time operations director. So they hire one of ours part-time, and our whole system comes with the person.
You carry ten to twenty of these organizations at a time. Our software tracks every federal and state deadline, drafts emails and content, and gives you a prioritized queue each morning. You handle the part software can't.
Where you're coming from
One role, one set of terms. These pages differ in a single section: why the work you have already done is this work.

Compensation
This is a contractor engagement, not employment. You are an independent contractor, paid on a 1099. You set your own hours and your own methods; we supply the system, the training, and the standards you agree to work to.
You're paid 40% of what your clients pay, every month they stay, starting with your first client's first payment. Nothing to buy, no fee to join.
The figures below come from two numbers: a client paying $800 a month, and your 40% share. That's $320 per client per month. This program is new enough that no one has completed a full year, so treat the ramp as our plan, not as anyone's result.
| Point in time | Clients | Per month |
|---|---|---|
| Month 3 | 5 | $1,600 |
| Month 6 | 11 | $3,520 |
| Month 12 | 18 | $5,760 |
Eighteen clients at $800 works out to about $69,000 a year. Clients move to higher rates as their organizations grow; at an average of $1,000 the same portfolio works out to about $86,000. Both are the same arithmetic, not forecasts.
We don't pay a salary or an advance, and we'd rather say why. Paying you before you've done anything would attract people who want the payment rather than the work, and you'd be working alongside them.
So this fits two situations:
Most of our clients are in exactly the same position. The founders we work with usually have day jobs too, so evening and weekend calls are normal here, not a compromise.

How we bring people on
We're bringing on about 30 people over the next several months, and we can train five or six at a time.
That's a real limit, not a sales tactic: someone from our side sits in on your first client calls, and we can't do that for more people at once. We'd rather say so than waste your time.
If the current group is full when you apply, we'll tell you when the next one starts and send you the background reading in the meantime. It makes the interview shorter and gets you working sooner.
We'll tell you either way.
