Blackbaud Giving Fund passed more than $536 million to nonprofits in 2025, over half of it company matches
The fund, a donor-advised fund sponsor independent of Blackbaud Inc., said on Oct. 14 that more than $285 million of the total came from employers matching their workers' gifts. It reported more than $558.7 million for 2024.
Blackbaud Giving Fund disbursed more than these amounts in 2025
Charleston. The Blackbaud Giving Fund, a public charity in Charleston, S.C., that passes workplace gifts and company grants on to the nonprofits people choose, said on Oct. 14 that it disbursed more than $536 million in 2025 to over 124,000 nonprofits in 76 countries.
More than $285 million of that came from company matches, more than half of the total, the fund said. The money moved through workplace giving and corporate grantmaking programs, and a significant share of the 2025 grants was issued electronically, according to the fund.
Below the year before
The total is lower than the one the fund reported for 2024. In a release of Oct. 20, 2025, it said it had disbursed more than $558.7 million that year to more than 123,000 nonprofits, with company matches making up just over half. The new release does not compare the two years or explain the difference.
The fund advises fundraisers to tell their supporters about employer matching and to make sure their organizations can be found on workplace giving platforms. Nonprofits can list themselves for free on its Blackbaud Verified Network, which the fund says reaches over 9 million potential donors. A year earlier it put that number at more than 8 million.
Who runs the fund
The fund describes itself as an independent 501(c)(3) public charity and donor-advised fund sponsor. It is not controlled by Blackbaud Inc. and is not a program or activity of the company, the release says.
Catherine LaCour became its chief executive and executive director in March. The 2024 figures were announced by her predecessor as executive director, Matt Nash.
“For nonprofits, workplace giving represents an important revenue channel for nonprofits, helping them diversify fundraising, reach more supporters, and generate more resources to advance their mission.”
